Timber
European Green Oak - Fresh Sawn
Our oak beams are cut from mature trees, felled during the winter when the sap is down. Beams for oak frames, trusses, or any form of construction tend to be ‘Fresh-Sawn’ or ‘Green’. The natural properties of oak will cause the beam to shrink and split slightly over a very long period of time, but this does not detract from its natural structural integrity.
Beams, Boards & Mantels
European Air-Dried Oak.
Air-dried contains a lower moisture content as it dries naturally. For this reason, air-dried oak is more suitable for interior works and direct glazing. Oak beams can be used in various applications, including restorations, farms, carports, horse stables, annexes, and garden rooms. As there are so many different applications, we keep a varied size of oak beams in stock.

Cladding
Cladding is a really versatile product. It can be stained, painted or left to mature over time and go through a natural weathering process for a truly unique appearance. A superb way to not only protect a building from the elements, but also gives a beautiful, rustic aesthetic to the final build.Â
Feather edge
Oak | Larch | Cedar
A traditional finish where sawn boards are cut on the diagonal to create a tapered board that is overlapped.
Waney edge
Oak | Larch | Cedar
A beautifully unique end result, Waney edge has a natural 'wavy' edge that still shows the bark.
Square edge
Oak | Larch | Cedar
A squared top and bottom edge to give a neat, uniformed finish.

Timbers
larch
A durable softwood ideal for sheds, outdoor entertainment spaces & outbuildings, larch is a
cost-effective alternative that still gives a refined, modern finish. When Larch resin freezes, it is known to protect the wood from pests and fungi that can penetrate the wood and cause harm. It has a beautiful brown shade with a deep red undertone which will beautifully ‘silver’ over time as it weathers. All of our stocked larch is sustainably sourced from the UK, often from just down the road, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and supporting other, local businesses.
oak
Known for its great strength, oak can withstand heavy loads, endure harsh weathering conditions and grows stronger the older it becomes. With charming, natural knots and elegant splits that form during the drying process, each piece has a beautifully unique character. Extremely low maintenance, its natural allure and rich finish exude a sublime finish for interior fixtures. Although at the higher end of timber pricing, the cost per square metre is incredibly competitive against other building materials.
cedar
A stunning red wood, Cedar has soft, stable properties make it ideal for fencing, cladding, decking & trim. It has a sweet, natural aroma & is incredibly lightweight. Cedar has natural insect-repellent properties & unlike many other woods has a high compressive & bending strength. Cedar continues to grow in popularity for garden screens, fencing & furniture construction.
